The surmise..
Living for worldly things sure has its own pros.. You are bound to find more people , if not all, thinking like you!! Venturing into unknown territory is always that much scarier because it is "unknown" .. Expecting something from the unknown is pretty impossible .. But as easy as it is to expect something from the known its perhaps dangerous..
Expectations are distinctly related to knowledge..You can only expect from something u know but thats where the relation should ideally end .. Trouble begins when you stretch it to the "vice versa" ie. If you know something you expect something ..
Come to think , expectations are perhaps the paramount cause for disappointment in life . As humans our minds are trained to optimism . Even the most pessimist of people would have an optimistic view inside them . Once you set yourself an optimistic expectation you can never beat it which takes away the joy of even equalling the expectation...
Surmise and the thrill in life is somewhat taken over by the ambiguous lull .. But whats more arduous is not living upto the expectations ..

Life is a curiously capricious path...can only be understood backward, but it must be lived forward to crack d "surmise"..
Sad but true life is all abt expectations...v expect like v breathe if i can safely say so...in my own ambiguous defn...expectations are mere outputs of preconceived notions...desired anticipations in joy or undesired jinxes in grief.n joy emulsified with grief is d essence of life...We all live with the objective of being happy; our lives are all different and yet so similar....
As an abrupt epilogue il conclude sayin u win some n u lose some...but thts not the end of it all..cos without a peril in d fight,theres no glory in d triumph...While triumph is d only sole option for born winners like u in d war of life..positivity may prove a lethal weapon..Follows: while u perceive life as "boulevard of broken expectations"..another may view the same as "centrestage of newer n attainable expectations"

thats precisely when u must not quit!!

We never really ponder over knowns.. we are more interested in knowing unknowns, but we are surprised on encounter with some unknown which we never expected. Have u seen anyone enjoying bright sun on deep darkness??.. we prefer to walk in obscure region we love dawn and eve over noon and night.
Consider any test u have ever taken, conjecture always has more probablity of losing than winning. Still we guess, in desire of gaining something which is not really ours!! And it hurts the most when some surmise fails to achieve our expectations.
We fail to live upto our own expectations.. Then why do ppl want others to live upto their expectations???? I am Expecting some reply for this posting :)
As you said we prefer a crack at the unknowns rather than ponder more about the knowns...
It is this tendency that leads to the knowns drifting into the unknown category..We wont know how and when but the search for unknown takes you places from where the known seem distant memories...
I guess to keep in tandem with both these is quite a "skill" to acquire if I may say...
